ダニエラは、ニューヨークでファッションを学んだ後、暫くバイヤーなどをしていましたが、ロンドンに移住し、2006年に「イッサ・ロンドン」を立ち上げました。
現代女性のファッションを確立したココ・シャネルに大きな影響を受けており、シャネルとはジャージー素材でエレガントな仕立てをするところが共通しています。

Kate chose the dress designed by Brazilian designer, Daniella Helayal, whose label, Issa London.
After Daniella had studied fashion in New York, she had been buyers, and then moved to London and launched Issa London in 2006.
She has been influenced by Coco Chanel who established the modern fashion for woman, and has tailored with jersey elegantly like Chanel did.
The dress of Issa London has a light and a comfortable material, being very chic, and it is an all‐round dress to be used for all the day from office work to dinner, which is loved by Beyonce, Madonna and many celebrities.
Kate often wears dresses of Issa in public and she is also referred to as the advertisement of Issa from people.
The royal blue dress which she wore in the interview of the engagement is also a typical jersey dress of Issa, and a sober but clear color was suited well to the intellectual image of Kate.
It perfectly matched the sapphire stone of the Duchess' engagement ring.
