キャサリン妃 〜ケンブリッジ公爵夫人の全て〜

2012年11月3日、王室はキャサリンの妊娠を発表しました。
このことが英国で大きなニュースになり、国民が一斉に歓喜したのは言うまでもありません。
キャサリンは重度のつわりで入院し、暫く療養していました。
しかし今年（2013年）に入り、公務に復帰しているようです。
キャサリンの妊娠は、英国の将来を大きく左右するものです。
それは、キャサリンの子供は、性別に関わらず、王位継承権第3位になり、未来の君主の座が約束されるからです。
そのようなこともあり、マスコミは連日キャサリンの妊娠についての報道、生まれてくる子供の性別分析などに躍起になっています。
つわりの症状があまりに重く、双子説まで飛び出しました。
双子が生まれるのなら、王位継承権は生まれてくる順番が先かあとか、それだけで大きく変わってきます。
しかし王室は、予定日が7月であるということ以外、子供の性別や双子かどうかなど、一切明らかにしていません。
とにかく無事に健康な赤ちゃんが生まれてくれば、それだけで十分というのが、王室と国民の共通する気持ちでしょう。
ウィリアムの弟・ヘンリーもまた、大好きな兄夫婦に子供ができるということで、叔父になるのが大変楽しみだということです。
誰もが羨む幸せなロイヤル・カップルの元に生まれてくる子供は、きっと「世界一幸せな子供」と呼ばれるに違いありません。
私たち日本人も、キャサリンの出産が心から楽しみです。

A Pregnancy
In 3rd November 2012, the palace announced that Catherine was expecting the first child.
Obviously, it was a big news in the UK and people were delighted about it all together.
Catherine had been hospitalized and recuperating for a while due to the severe morning sickness.
But, she returned to public engagements in 2013.
Her pregnancy affects the future of the UK significantly.
It is because her baby, regardless of gender, is third in line to the throne and will be a monarch in the future.
Therefore, the mass media reported about her pregnancy and analyzed the gender of her unborn child eagerly day after day.
The symptoms of morning sickness were too heavy, so it was said that she might have twins.
If she has got twins, it will change the line of succession only depending on the order, whether it is the first child or the second child.
However, the palace has just announced that she is expecting her baby in July but not revealed the sex of the baby nor that she would have twins or not.
Both the palace and the public would feel satisfied if only a healthy baby is born safely.
William's brother Harry also looked forward to becoming an uncle as his brother has a baby.
A baby who was born to the happy royal couple must be described as the world's most happy child.
Japanese people also really look forward to the birth of Catherine’s baby.
