王族の結婚式には欠かせないティアラ。

実は、キャサリン妃は宝石のティアラではなく、花の冠をかぶりたかったのですが、王室に反対されてティアラを着用することになりました。

キャサリンが結婚式でつけたティアラは、エリザベス女王から借りた、カルティエのものです。

別名「ハロ・ティアラ」は、エリザベス女王の父が、1936年に母（現・エリザベス皇太后）のために購入したもので、エリザベスが18歳の時に、母から譲り受けました。

かつてダイアナ元妃も、女王に借りて公の場で着用したこともあり、王族四世代に亘り継承される由緒正しいティアラです。

イヤリングは、キャサリンの両親、ミドルトン夫妻からの贈り物です。

デザインは、ミドルトン家と親交の深いデザイナー、ロビンソン・ペラムによるもの。

オークの葉とどんぐりをモチーフにしたイヤリングは、ミドルトン家に新たに与えられた紋章のデザインから取ったもので、ミドルトン夫人とロビンソン・ペラムのデザイナーがこの紋章のデザインのために、何度も打ち合わせを重ねて完成させました。

因みに、ミドルトン家は、娘の晴れ舞台のために自分たちのアクセサリーもペラムに注文しました。

ミドルトン夫人のネックレス、キャサリンの妹ピッパ・ミドルトンのイヤリング、そして父マイケル・ミドルトンと、弟ジェームズ・ミドルトンのラベルピンも、ロビンソン・ペラムによるものです。

A Tiara and Earrings

The indispensable thing for the royal wedding is a tiara.

In fact, Catherine hoped to wear a crown of flowers instead of the tiara of jewels, but the royal family was against it, so she wore the tiara.

The tiara Catherine wore is made by Cartier, borrowed from Queen Elizabeth.

The tiara, which is also known as 'Halo' Tiara, was purchased by the father of the Queen for her mother (the Queen's Mother now) in 1936 and the Queen at the age of 18 took it over from her mother.

Princess Diana also borrowed it from the Queen sometimes and wore it in public, which is a venerable tiara that has been inherited over four generations of the royal family.

Earrings are a gift from Catherine's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Middleton.

The designer is Robinson Pelham who is close friends of the Middletons.

The motifs of Earrings are acorns and oak leaves, which is inspired by the family's new coat of arms. Mrs. Middleton and the designer, Robinson Pelham discussed designs several times.

The Middletons purchased their accessories from Robinson Pelham for the big day of their daughter.

Robinson Pelham also created Mrs. Middleton's pendant, Kate's sister Pippa's earrings, and the pins that adorned the suits of the bride's father Michael and brother James.
